• After arrival in Tel Aviv we encounter the first of many smorgasbord dinners.

According to Jewish dietary laws meat and dairy are not mixed. For our tour that typically meant that breakfast included dairy and our evening meal focused on meat.
• Some foods including fish, fruit, and vegetables are considered "neutral." One of the items I found at breakfast each morning was a choice between hairing and salmon. I grew to enjoy a couple small salmon fillets with my hard-boild eggs. Here you see the two fish platters for supper on either side of the candleabra.
• A rich assortment of grains is here presented with a variety of topping choices.

• The group prepares to leave Tel Aviv for the first full day of touring. Next stop, Caesarea by the sea.
• Our tour guide, Micky, introduces himself and updates us on the first day's activities.
• Micky was great at weaving together geography, history, and biblical teaching. And, he had a great sense of humor!
